Enhance your CV and Cover letter
Hello Everyone,
Recently, I had an amazing experience with a Talent Acquisition team of a company!
As a job seeker, I understand that not every application will result in a positive outcome, but I am thankful for recruiters like them who take the time to provide feedback that can help me grow and improve my chances in the future. It’s not every day that a recruiter takes the time to provide feedback on an application that didn’t result in a positive outcome.
Some tips on how to craft a winning cover letter for an application (Otta Blog, 2021)
✅ Do’s
🎯 CV should only be a page or two long. One page may seem like a challenge, but using a tool like Enhancv or Canva should be helpful.
🎯 What to write in a cover letter 🤔 — — — Answer two questions
[1] What excites you about company X?
🔸 Show that you have done your research on the company by referring to an article, blog, or other sources that talk about the company.
🔸Share your personal experience with the company’s product or service, and highlight what you like about it.
🔸Demonstrate your understanding of the company’s mission, values, or the problem they are solving.
🔸Avoid generic statements and aim to provide specific insights that make you stand out.
[2] What do you want in this role?
🔸 Look carefully at the job description and mention the specific aspects of the role that excite you.
🔸 If you’re applying for a more senior role, explain why now is the right time for you to take on this position.

❌ Don’t’s
🔸 Avoid making your cover letter an extension of your CV.
Recommendation — The cover letter should provide something unique and exciting about the candidate.
